The Graz Palace Welsersheimb located on the corners of Am Eisernen Tor, Hans-Sachs-Gasse and Herrengasse was constructed during the period 1689 to 1694 according to the plans of Joachim Carlone. In 2004 and 2005, we adapted the structure of the Palace, which had previously been used as a regional centre for an Austrian bank, and created one of the most beautiful and largest bookshops in Austria. The frescoes of Ovid's metamorphoses found in the object, thus, became accessible to the public. An outdoor café, shaded by nearby trees, invites visitors to take a break and observe the activity on the Herrengasse.
